Career Moves Group to support 2 charities in 2014
This year the company has chosen LLU (Leukaemia & Lymphoma Unit at UCLH) and SNAP (Special Needs and Parents) as charities to fundraise for in 2014.
Choosing which worthy causes the company wants to support through annual charitable initiatives is taken pretty seriously by the 24 employees. Every year, a voting system takes place where by the most enthusiastically and vehemently presented cause wins the position of charity of choice for the year, this time both LLU and SNAP were chosen as both seemed especially deserving.
Speaking about why they chose to nominate LLU, Tom Simons, head of HR Moves and Eleanor Karadimitriadis, head of PR Moves, said, “We chose the LLU after hearing about the charity from a good friend who’s a nurse on the ward. She let us know about the type of care they give patients in the unit, and also about fundraising that’s done for the doctors, nurses, and professionals on the ward – enabling them to give better care to patients”.
Sarah Savage, head of Career Moves Support, said the following about her feelings for choosing SNAP, “I pitched for the SNAP charity because they’re a small, local charity, doing great work in the Essex area for special needs children and their parents. I’ve seen close hand how one of my close friends a fellow parent, has been given support from the charity – helping her work with local authorities to inform, encourage and support parents”.
We’ll be participating in fundraising activities throughout 2014 in order to make donations to the charities they are supporting. Keep your eyes peeled for our events throughout the year.
