Contractors happy with lifestyle choice, survey finds
Specialist contractor accountant ClearSky Accounting asked its clients whether they see contracting as a career option rather than a stop-gap between permanent roles.
More than nine out of ten (92%) respondents said that they intend to continue contracting & lsquo;for the foreseeable future’.
It comes as ClearSky celebrates securing its 10,000th contractor client. The milestone was reached after the company attracted more than 1,600 sign-ups between January and December 2013.
Daniel Mepham, accounting director at ClearSky Accounting, said, “It’s very encouraging to see such high levels of optimism among Limited company contractors.
“People are clearly attracted to the lifestyle advantages of contracting, with our findings revealing the prevalence of the & lsquo;career contractor’.
“In addition, contract opportunities have significantly improved in the UK over the past 12 months, as business confidence continues to gather pace.
“I believe that the next 12 months will deliver an increase in demand across the core contracting disciplines, particularly in the oil & gas and finance sectors.”
With offices in Warrington and Poole, ClearSky Accounting provides fixed-fee accountancy support to Limited company contractors.
Clients benefit from access to qualified accountants and an online portal.
“We’ve set ourselves a number of ambitious targets and are prepared to invest in the business in order to achieve even faster growth in 2014," added Mepham.
