New owner for Driver Hires Wisbech and the Fens franchise

Jeffries, who lives locally, is certainly no stranger to Driver Hire. Apart from a short break, she’s been working for Driver Hire’s nationwide network since 1997 at a number of offices including Peterborough, Chester, Wakefield, Newport and, most recently, for the previous franchisee at Wisbech.

“I’d already looked at buying another Driver Hire franchise,” said Jeffries. “When the opportunity came along to buy this one, it was perfect timing. The office is in Wisbech and my territory stretches from Skegness to Hunstanton. We already have a good customer base and I’m sure there are plenty of opportunities to build on this.”

A franchise business, Driver Hire is the UK’s largest specialist supplier of staff to the transport and logistics industry. It provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.

Alongside the core recruitment business, Jeffries will also be offering Driver CPC training. Driver CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) is an essential requirement for all vocational holders of a large goods vehicle licence. To meet the requirements of Driver CPC, 35 hours of training must be completed by September 2014. LGV drivers who fail to meet this deadline will no longer be able to drive a large goods vehicle professionally.

Jeffries will be working alongside colleague Jane Austen, who will be looking after admin.

“I’ve worked for some other agencies during my career,” said Jeffries. “That experience has confirmed that Driver Hire is the best in the business. I believe very passionately in the brand and am looking forward to providing a first rate service to local businesses and other organisations in and around my catchment area.”
