Meridian Business Support honours leading recruiters at annual awards
Trophies were presented to dozens of employees working across the company’s 72 UK branches at the annual Meridian Awards Event, held on 8th February at the Crowne Plaza, Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire.
The ceremony highlights Meridian’s forward-thinking approach to employee engagement, with high investment in staff wellbeing and development. This forms part of the company’s strategy to grow its national network of localised branches, led by expert recruitment specialists.
The Manager of the Year award went to Rachel Waldron who heads up Meridian’s Bristol Industrial branch, while Vicky Lord, Payroll Clerk based at Meridian’s headquarters in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, was named Star of the Year.
17 members of staff received the Long Service accolade, with three awarded to employees who have been with the company for 15 years or more, including Menna Phillips from South Wales, Mark Mitchell (Chief Executive) and Steve Hollingsworth from Birmingham.
Mark Mitchell, chief executive at Meridian, commented, “Our annual awards ceremony is an opportunity for the company to acknowledge the achievements of our dedicated teams. With so many branches around the UK, the event is also a unique opportunity for the entire Meridian staff base to get together and celebrate our success from the past year.
“While we’re seeing promising signs of economic recovery, the climate remains challenging, which makes the constant efforts from our dedicated team even more impressive. Looking ahead, we hope to build on the success of the past 12 months as we move towards achieving our plans for growth.”
Mitchell is leading Meridian’s 20|20 Vision, with plans to double revenues to more than £200 million over the next seven years through a local model that targets recruitment opportunities within niche sectors.
