NSL launches identity verification app to confirm right-to-work in seconds

The app will provide an employer with the reassurance of gaining a Statutory Excuse* against employing illegal migrant workers, at a far earlier stage in the employment process.

Powered by Keesing Technologies, the AuthentiScan App will take seconds to check identity documents against the world’s most comprehensive and continually updated document reference library.

The app is available free with annual subscriptions, which are priced competitively and within the reach of small to medium sized businesses.

Currently, businesses are liable for a &pound10,000 fine per person who is found to be employed illegally and without the employer proving that they have taken all necessary identity document checks. From next year, should the Immigration Bill become law, this fine will increase to &pound20,000 per illegal worker.

AuthentiScan, powered by Keesing, is exclusively provided in the UK and the Republic of Ireland by NSL’s Validation Solutions division, which is headed up by former Scotland Yard Police Officer, Kenneth Hanslip. He said: “This is the first app of its kind in the UK, and is designed to make life easier for employers and other groups who are obliged to validate identity documents. The app will be of great assistance to employers and other groups who have to validate identity documents at remote or out of office locations.”
