2014 sees Express Employment Professionals award $434,000 in grants
The privately held staffing firm has awarded $434,000 in kickstart grants to 14 new locations already in 2014. The company plans to add 100 additional locations in 2014, targeting strategic markets in 30 states.
Express Employment Professionals, one of the nation’s largest privately held staffing firms, has awarded $434,000 in kickstart grants to 14 new locations already in 2014. Express will continue to offer this incentive to develop business growth for new franchises awarded before June 30, 2014.
“Real or imagined, franchisees are looking for a partner to help them navigate a complex and difficult lending environment. By providing $31,000, our goal is to see a new owner ramp up faster and offset the investment with additional staff, allowing us to help our franchisees reach breakeven as soon as possible,” said David Lewis, vice president of franchising. “It’s clear that the support Express Employment Professionals provides is creating incredible demand. We have had nearly 2,000 people inquire about an Express franchise in just the first eight weeks of the year.”
The staffing company plans to add 100 additional locations in 2014, targeting strategic markets in 30 states. Key areas for growth include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as Ohio, West Virginia, Mississippi, Texas and Idaho.
Expansion plans for Canada include Lethbridge and Red Deer, Alberta Winnipeg, Manitoba Halifax, Nova Scotia St. Johns, Newfoundland, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
“Staffing services are in high demand and Express is expanding to meet the increasing need among employers for a flexible workforce,” Lewis said. “With employment up and more businesses using staffing companies, the market is going to double during the next 10 years and we recognize the need to open new offices to meet the demand.”
The staffing company was founded in 1983 and began franchising in 1985. Express has consistently maintained a 98 percent approval rating from franchisees on the quality and opportunity of the Express system. The average Express territory generates annual sales of $5.16 million.
In 2014, Express was named the No. 1 staffing franchise in the U.S. by Entrepreneur as part of the magazine’s Franchise 500 list and was ranked 51 on the Franchise Times Top 200, the magazine’s annual list of the top performing franchise systems in the country.
The company’s ongoing, rapid growth is indicative of a fundamental shift in hiring practices, as employers increasingly rely on temporary workers for flexible staffing solutions who can respond to real-time market conditions. Express Employment Professionals offers a full range of employment solutions, including evaluation hire, temporary staffing, professional search and human resources. With more than 675 offices in the U.S., Canada and South Africa, Express is committed to the vision of helping as many people as possible find good jobs by helping as many clients as possible find good people.
Express Employment Professionals puts people to work.
