GCS Recruitment Specialists appoint director
In February 2014, after generating more than £3 million in net fee income and having led and developed many recruitment teams, Devonshire was confirmed in the role. He joins company founder Chris Bartlett and managing director David Bloxham on the GCS board.
Devonshire joined the company as a trainee 14 years ago in February 2000, having hung up his chef's hat to start his recruitment career.
"It has been my great pleasure to have worked with Chris for 14 years," says Bartlett. "Seeing him work hard to develop from an inexperienced trainee to an inspiring leader has been fantastic. Chris’ promotion to the board of directors has proved extremely popular - everybody within GCS has, in some way, benefitted from Chris' dedication, knowledge and enthusiasm for providing our customers with the very best recruitment service"
Bloxham added, "Chris Devonshire has been a vital part of our growth over the last decade. We have always said that GCS is a meritocracy and this is another great example - Chris' journey from trainee to director demonstrates that commitment, loyalty and talent will always be recognised and rewarded."
Devonshire's role will includes strategic planning, developing new revenue streams, and overseeing policies and procedures to guarantee customers receive the best service. He will also be responsible for overseeing the internal recruitment and training teams to ensure ongoing improvement.
"It's been an excellent fourteen years not a day has gone by that I haven't counted myself lucky to be part of such a great company" says Devonshire. "I am grateful to be able to work alongside so many fantastic people and look forward to driving GCS forward. My key objective is to ensure that GCS achieves record breaking levels of success across the whole business."
