HCIG to attend YouthNets Cycle of Innovation on youth employment
YouthNet is a digital charity supporting 1 million 16 to 25 year-olds across the UK each year. They harness technology to provide young people with trusted information, emotional support and skills to help them thrive in life.
This creative session is part of YouthNet’s Cycle of Innovation which will explore the needs of both young people and employers, and to begin co-creating concepts for new digital support. This session will produce top line concepts that will be taken forward to be refined and developed, before being shared at a dissemination event in June.
There are almost one million unemployed young people in the UK, with many employers citing a gap in skills among young applicants. Young people are the digital generation, yet the EU estimates there will be 900,000 ICT job vacancies by 2015. There is a disconnect.
HCIG are looking forward to contributing to the conversation and offering their expertise.
