HCL Social Care partners with Victoria Climbi Foundation
The Victoria Climbié Foundation (VCF) was established in 2003 by the parents of Victoria Climbié, a victim of child abuse who was failed by the social care system. It campaigns for improvements in child protection policies and practices and to ensure effective links and coordination between statutory agencies, care services and BME communities.
HCL Social Care took the decision to support VCF following the VCF conference late in 2013. “We were inspired by the work the organisation was undertaking” comments Gary Chatfield, managing director, “It was refreshing to attend an event focused on promoting the good practice that takes place within the social care industry and we felt that we could support VCF throughout 2014 and beyond as the work they undertake is so closely linked to what we strive to offer our clients and candidates.”
VCF were equally delighted with the prospect of working together. Commenting on the partnership, VCF Director Mor Dioum said, “We are delighted that VCF has been chosen as HCL Social Care’s charity partner for 2014. Together, we can progress our aims to raise the profile of good social care practice through proper selection and training of staff at all levels, to achieve more positive outcomes for children and families”.
HCL Social Care and VCF believe that our mutual ambitions to provide quality child protection services, a high standard of education for social workers and a voice to frontline workers will result in our developing an incredibly valuable partnership. We look forward to working together in the pursuit of these aims in 2014 and beyond.
