IOR launches in-house recruiting qualification

The Level-3 qualification is regulated by Ofqual and delivered entirely online and provides recruiters with the practical knowledge and skills needed to perform all the responsibilities of an internal recruitment professional.

With the most comprehensive curriculum the industry has ever seen learners will be guided through seven units of study, through overviews of the changing recruitment market, how organisations manage recruitment operations, up-to-date candidate sourcing and attraction techniques, including the use of social media, to detailed guides on assessing the right people and the latest on recruitment law.

These techniques revolutionise how organisations recruit and they will also enable recruiters to build credibility and add value to a company. Taking this unit also part-qualifies the student in HR, offering more career paths.

There is already considerable interest in the course. Leading oil service company Petrofac has enrolled its global team and there is increasing interest overseas with students registering in Russia and India.

Recruitment professional Louise Shaw, who recently developed a Recruitment Strategy for MAG’s (owner of UK airports including Manchester and Stansted) internal recruitment function and previously worked in senior recruitment roles in  AstraZeneca, says, “Candidate attraction methods are rapidly developing and it’s vital recruiters know how to use these methods to their advantage. In-house recruiters need to demonstrate they can source the highest quality talent by using a variety of methods such as social recruitment, job boards, career sites, recruitment agencies and headhunters and developing future talent pools. Qualifying with the IOR ensures recruiters stay ahead of their competitors in the search for talent.”

The IOR certificates are delivered through its revolutionary online education platform www.StudyCourse.org, the first recruitment qualifications to be delivered in this way. This means recruiters can learn at their own pace and where they want, without having to take valuable time out of their working day.

The IOR director general Azmat Mohammed says, “This qualification has been created by a dedicated team of professionals and gives the learner a deep understanding of how to ensure they are attracting the best talent. I would recommend all in-house recruiters undertake this course in order to be professionally qualified in their role.”

Mohammed adds, “Investing in learning is essential if you are serious about getting the maximum return on investment for the business.”
