Jobs boost data welcomed by Select Appointments

The data is revealed in the January 2014 UK Labour Market report from KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

It showed that permanent staff placements continued to increase strongly in January and that temp billings rose at a rate only marginally slower than December’s 15-year peak.

Permanent staff salaries also remained elevated at the start of 2014, holding at a pace broadly in line with December’s six-year peak.

David Buist, director of franchise development at Select Appointments, said, “The jobs data shows that the employment trends are going in a positive direction which is good news for the economy in general and the recruitment sector in particular.  Our Franchise Partner owned offices are certainly reflecting this in terms of higher volumes of business in both permanent and temporary placements.”

He added, “For anyone looking to set up their own recruitment business we have an exciting range of opportunities ranging from low cost office-based options to home based franchises.  Previous recruitment experience is not necessary just business the acumen and the ambition to succeed with our support.  With our extensive training and back office business support infrastructure, we also welcome enquiries from independent recruitment businesses looking to expand their business potential by being part of our experienced franchise network and support system”

Select Appointment has recently been accredited by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation to deliver the Certificate in Recruitment Practice in line with the Accredited Induction Scheme.
