Spencer Ogden opens Dubai office
The Dubai office, the Company’s twelfth, and fourth global office in the last year, will convert Spencer Ogden’s offering from a hub to a super hub. The office, already home to 20 specialist consultants, is headed by Jaimie Cork. Cork has been operating in Dubai since 2008 and has a seven year track record in the industry.
The new office space, designed by Bonita Spencer Percival, sets a new bar for corporate surroundings in the UAE. Created with the view to energise its employees, the space, incorporating both local and British design elements, encourages staff of all levels to interact and collaborate.
Supporting the launch of Spencer Ogden in the UAE is its graduate academy launching this month. The three month intensive training course with a series of modules teaching new recruits the key components to excel in recruitment is a first in the energy recruitment sector, and a tried and tested part of Spencer Ogden’s growth strategy. Spencer Ogden plans to spend $80,000 per graduate, taking on seven graduates when the programme commences, with at least one more academy to commence over the summer.
Commenting on the expansion, Jaimie Cork, country manager, UAE, said, “This is an exciting opportunity for Spencer Ogden. Not only does Dubai provide the staging post for our expansion into the Middle East and Africa, but the region is showing such significant growth in the energy sector, which is already enabling us to work with some of the biggest and brightest companies in the region.”
Located in Dubai Media City, Spencer Ogden takes its place among leading local, regional and international businesses.
Commenting on the energy sector in the region, David Spencer Percival, CEO, Spencer Ogden added, “The energy industry across the UAE and GCC is expanding rapidly, requiring a fresh injection of expertise across all facets of the sector. In response to this demand whether in engineering, procurement or construction, we are deploying our unrivalled sector experts to play a key role in the next phase of growth in the region’s energy markets. With the upcoming launch of our graduate academy, we will further reinforce our market leading position as first intake complete their training to become the finest in the industry.”
As well as sourcing top graduates, Spencer Ogden employs senior consultants with direct experience in the energy sector whether from industry or within the recruitment field.
While the primary focus of the Dubai office will be serving the oil and gas market, it will also service the power and renewable energy sectors.
The Dubai office joins Spencer Ogden’s other headquarters in London, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Berlin, Cape Town, Houston, Singapore, Hong Kong, Perth, Mozambique and Calgary, and reinforces its position as the world’s leading energy HR consultancy of choice.
