APSCo responds to proposed amendment to Conduct Regulations
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement today that the Government intends to further amend the Conduct Regulations to include a prohibition on advertising UK based jobs across the EU without also doing so in Great Britain, Samantha Hurley, Head of External Relations at APSCo, says:
“APSCo supports the Government’s intention to tackle recruitment firms which discriminate against UK workers by hiring solely from abroad. However APSCo will need to see the detail of the proposal to ensure that there are no unintended consequences which could negatively impact on the UK’s professional flexible market, and will continue to engage with BIS and its members on the issue.
APSCo also supports the stringent measures set out in today’s announcement which will target unscrupulous gangmasters who exploit workers. While we do not believe this to be relevant to the professional staffing sector, we welcome all attempts to protect vulnerable workers.”
