British agencies should list all vacancies in Britain and in English, REC agrees
“It’s right that British agencies should be listing all vacancies in Britain and in English. The requirement not to discriminate against jobseekers based on their nationality is already enshrined in law under the Equality Act.
“Recruiters have millions of people walking through their doors looking for work every day and whether those people are UK nationals or EU-migrants is secondary to the ultimate goal of getting the right people into the right job at the right time.”
On the decision announced today that the Home Office will assume responsibility for the GLA with immediate effect, Green added, “This is a sensible and welcome development and it’s something we have advocated. The GLA’s scope and responsibilities, especially on issues around migrant workers, are better suited to being part of that department than part of Defra.”
