Care Appointments introduce revamped job board & social media channels
Initially launched as a magazine in 2004, Care Appointments has steadily built it's online audience of 'care professionals, care students & voluntary sector workers' to a healthy 50k visitors a month.
Sales director, Iain MacDonald, said, “We are very excited to bring this new site to market. We've endeavoured to develop something that's a bit more than a regular job board. It's a crowded market, but we’re different because we offer a content-rich experience which improves visitor and retention numbers."
Although no longer producing the magazine, MacDonald says they have endeavoured to retain 'the feel of a magazine'. He said, " Our background is in magazines and we like the fact that people can get a lot of information with minimum fuss.”
You could be forgiven for thinking the job board element of the site is almost an afterthought. Quite the reverse is true.
We found a very useful jobseeker dashboard, with CV and cover letter functions and a handy online profile which can be edited to suit particular vacancies or employers. Also, job alerts can be set to flag up jobs that match the chosen criteria.
For recruiters, a separate console manages all job posting needs with advanced features to rival the most cutting edge solutions.
So how does this compare with the others in the market.
MacDonald says,“With budgets being squeezed, the tendency is to look for value for money rather than spend large sums on established platforms. Also, when you look at the fact that 58%* of the care sector is made up of companies employing between 1-10 staff and that a further 29% employing up to 50 staff, the vast majority of recruitment budgets are not catered for.
“We've tried to price our product so that it's affordable yet still offers a national, sector-specific audience, for a fraction of the traditional cost. In fact, recruiters can post as many jobs as they like with us for a full year for the same cost as one week in the leading sector newspaper. "
"We also employ third-party aggregators who post our vacancies far and wide. And to coincide with the site launch, we've added Twitter, Facebook, Google & RSS channels to extend our reach of potential candidates."
"For recruiters, this means an extremely affordable, easy-to-use tool to support recruitment campaigns."
