'Part-time' is revealed as the no. 1 job search term around the world

The search data from Indeed identified the top 10 roles that job seekers are searching for on the website with & lsquo;part-time’ taking the top spot, followed by & lsquo;retail’, & lsquo;driver’, & lsquo;warehouse’ and & lsquo;sales assistant’ in the UK specifically. As job seekers search by job type, rather than by the actual job itself, the importance of flexible working to today’s workers has never been clearer.  With the majority of the top 10 job searches not strictly being & lsquo;9 to 5’ type jobs, the top 10 results suggest that Brits may be taking on a secondary job in addition to their full-time employment.

The top 10 most searched for terms from January to March 2014 are:

1.       Part time

2.       Retail

3.       Driver

4.       Warehouse

5.       Sales assistant

6.       Cleaner

7.       Receptionist

8.       NHS

9.       Customer service

10.   Retail assistant

Indeed’s data also reveals that & lsquo;NHS’ has entered the top 10 terms job seekers are searching for on the platform. With the recent ONS statistics demonstrating a 37% employment growth in the healthcare industry, it is interesting to see the growth reflected in Indeed’s job seeker data.

“It is clear from our search data that job seekers are increasingly looking to find roles that with the flexibility to fit with their daily lives.  However, it is also interesting to see an industry with niche skills requirements, such as healthcare, attract such a large volume of job seeker interest. With report after report highlighting the lack of nurses and staff in the NHS, it is vital to match job seekers with relevant skills to the right roles within the NHS quickly," says David Rudick, VP International Markets,
