Recruiters remain 'disconnected' with job seekers through slow uptake of mobile recruiting
The poll also found that 30% of employers neither have, nor plan to implement, a mobile recruitment strategy this year, with a further 30% stating that mobile is on their agenda but not an immediate priority.
Commenting on the results, Rob Williams, Head of Sales & Marketing (EMEA), MoBolt, said: “The merits of using mobile recruiting are well-documented. But these results suggest that by failing to keep pace with changing job seeker behaviour, the majority of recruiters and employers are missing out on attracting top talent.
“With smartphone penetration in the UK soon to reach 75% of the population in 2014 and 66% of all job seekers looking for a job using a mobile device, recruiters and employers need to accommodate this new candidate preference – and let them actually apply.”
In 2013 alone, the number of people accessing the internet using their phone rose to 31 million – half the population. Mobile recruiting provides employers with a fast and efficient way of connecting with the best talent whenever and wherever they may be.
“The recruitment industry now runs 24-7 and the window of opportunity is so fine that even a few hours can mean the difference between capturing the right talent at the right time or losing them to the competition”, added Mr Williams.
MoBolt, a leading US-based mobile recruitment solution provider, is applying it's technology to UK recruiters looking to better connect with a mobile generation. By overcoming prohibitive user interfaces and enabling candidates to search and apply for vacancies using their tablets and smartphones, MoBolt Europe has successfully been helping employers such as TUI Travel, Live Nation, Nike, Deloitte, AOL and Saudi Aramco to significantly increase both the quantity and more importantly quality of applications completed than if they had relied on desktop alone.
“Its hard to prove a negative”, suggested Mr. Williams, “Companies just can’t appreciate the volume of candidates they are missing out on by not allowing mobile applications. Yet what we have seen is when we flick the switch, job seekers unreservedly embrace mobile and the client sees an immediate and significant uplift in total applies”.
By enabling employers to tap into the fast-growing socially mobile and connected workforce, MoBolt's simplistic user-experience platform has become a real game-changer for human resource teams who remain focused on positioning their organisation as an employer of choice, whilst remaining focused on achieving a quantifiable ROI and a positive bottom line.
