Sanderson looks back at first 12 months in Manchester
Harvey Woods, director of Sanderson Manchester, commented, “Building an office in Manchester was the natural choice for Sanderson, to complement our Bristol HQ, Edinburgh, Cardiff & London City regional hubs. It helped, of course, that we started with committed staff that had in excess of 30 years experience of recruiting across the North West and beyond and were passionate about living and working in such a dynamic and diverse city.
The past year has seen us surpass our expectations, and we have to say a big thank-you to the 33 customers and countless outstanding ICT, Business Change & Transformation interim & permanent professionals we’ve engaged with since opening officially last April. As a result of their support and loyalty, we have been able to build the business in the right way, with a relationship based approach that makes our clients & candidates partners, rather than financial targets. Thus enabling us to grow something sustainable, with an eye on remaining profitable, of course, that will ensure we will be standing stronger than ever five years from now and beyond.
Everything, inevitably, has been made possible by the dedicated team of consultants that have done an outstanding job of concreting Sanderson’s presence and brand in the North West. I remain absolutely firm that I would rather have a few outstanding people who are absolutely superb at what they do, than an office full of mediocre people, and that is the staffing philosophy that we will base our future growth strategy on - an ethos which will secure our future through changing economic and trading conditions! In the last two decades alone we’ve seen enough change from a lifestyle, socio economic, industry and technological point of view to challenge the finest staffing professional, so who knows what changes we will encounter in the next 20 years!
One thing, of course, that will never change is the human element, no amount of technological advancement can disrupt the fact that we’re in the business of connecting people. And if people are the most important part of any business, which they surely are, then providing high calibre people to right thinking progressive organisations must surely be one of the most important jobs there is. That is why Sanderson will continue to be excited at the prospect of helping our candidates and clients shape their professional ambitions as long as we exist, which will hopefully be at for at least another 4 decades!”
