Spencer Ogden wins Queens Award
The award is given to businesses for outstanding achievement in international trade, innovation and sustainable development. The international trade category, for which Spencer Ogden received the award, recognises substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success.
David Spencer-Percival, Spencer Ogden CEO, comments: “What an honour to receive such a prestigious award from Her Majesty the Queen. International expansion has been at the heart of our strategy since day one. In just over four years we have gone from an unknown business to one that has an influence across the globe.”
Spencer Ogden is an international recruitment agency, unique in that it serves all sectors of the energy market including oil and gas, nuclear and renewables. Launched initially in London and Aberdeen, it now operates across 12 offices worldwide, including in America, Canada, Australia and Singapore. The company, founded in 2010 by entrepreneurs David Spencer-Percival and Sir Peter Ogden, has gone from a standing start to one with an annual turnover of £50million, with predicted turnover of £75 million in 2014.
“We have continued to innovate and expand our services in order to adapt to the constantly changing energy sector, which means expanding into new territories wherever and whenever possible,” says Spencer-Percival.
“We rely on the expertise of our staff to provide the highest quality of service to our clients. An award is a reflection of the hard work of your employees, and receiving the Queen’s Award is the perfect recognition of the continued dedication of our ever-expanding team at Spencer Ogden.”
The Queen’s Award, recognising businesses that make a valuable contribution to the UK economy each year, has been operating since 1966. The announcement comes on the Queen’s birthday and winners will attend a reception at Buckingham Palace in July
