Square Oners pedal to Paris for charity
On June 18th 2014, Square One Resources, IT and ERP specialist recruiter, will be sending two of their finest on a journey to help & lsquo;cure blood cancer, pedal by pedal’
Bronwynn Joyce, Square One’s bid manger and Stefan Albers-Brough, head of legal, are in preparation for a sponsored 3 day bike ride across 377km. They’ll be cycling from London to Paris in support of Anthony Nolan whomatch incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people with blood cancer who are desperately in need of lifesaving transplants.
Albers-Brough said, “This is a great opportunity to support a fantastic charity while also achieving a personal goal. It was decided we would sponsor Anthony Nolan after the charity was nominated by a fellow Square Oneemployee who has been directly impacted by the work and care they provide. There is no doubt that the vital support Anthony Nolan provides deserves as much publicity as possible and I’m truly honored to fly the flag in the fight against blood cancer.”
Starting in West London and finishing at the Eifel Tower, Joyce and Albers-Brough will be tasked with cycling over 100km a day in order to reach their goal. The pair will face hardship and adversity in the form of solid saddles, sunburn, blisters and the tender affection of drivers on both sides of the sea and if that’s not enough, just before the finish line they’ll have to contend with a 1000m ascent up and then down the famous Arc de Triomphe - but it will all be in the name of a worthy cause.
Joyce and Albers-Brough have set up a JustGiving page which contains further details and will be updated over the course of the next few weeks with fundraising activities that will be taking place.
