Volt MD Richard Herring elected to APSCo Representative Committee
Herring has previously served two elected terms on the committee, including a term as Committee Chairman in 2009, and is honoured to once again be chosen by his peers to represent the interests of members.
Marilyn Davidson, a director at APSCo, said, “We are delighted to welcome Richard Herring back to the APSCo Representative Committee. He added tremendous value when he served previously, both as a committee member and as Chairman, and we are looking forward to working with him again to deliver our strategy for growth.”
The Committee represents the Staffing industry by advising government departments on legislative matters, as well as meeting with other relevant parties and executive officers.
Herring said, “First of all I’m honoured to be elected, I am very mindful of the responsibility I have to my peers and the industry generally in this role.
“I have always believed that what we do really matters. We influence people’s lives, whether they are a client or a candidate, so working to the highest ethical standards is essential. I am honoured to once again contribute to APSCo’s work in promoting our industry to UK plc, the Government and to wider geographies.
“At a time of legislative change and an improving market, and also with changes to underlying dynamics with the advent of social media and internal recruitment teams, it’s going to be a particularly interesting time to work with the committee.
“From a personal point of view, I believe the improving economic climate will lead to some very serious skills shortages in many of the markets that APSCo represents. This is going to represent both challenges and opportunities and I’d like to influence how we tackle these skills shortages to everyone’s benefit.”
