Meridian Business Support marks 25 years with 25 charity challenges
Meridian Business Support has come a long way since opening its first branch at Roberts House in Altrincham in May 1989, where the company’s head office still resides today. The company has grown significantly over the last 25 years, and is now generating revenues of over £100 million, with Altrincham hosting the hub office for 66 branches located across the UK’s major towns and cities.
To raise funds, 33 employees will participate in 25 & lsquo;Life Changing Challenges’ that will stretch over three months, beginning with the & lsquo;Breacon Beacons 5 Peaks Challenge’ in July, and ending in September with a group tandem skydive. Additionally, all 66 branches will be involved in the running of regular fundraising events such as office & lsquo;dressing up’ and & lsquo;dressing down’ days.
The Life Changing Challenges initiative supports a whole range of UK charities.
Additionally, each staff member involved in the fundraising challenges can select their own charity which the money they raise can go to.
The 25 year anniversary celebrations got underway last week, as the company marked reaching the official milestone by holding a national celebratory lunch for all 300 employees, which gave Meridian’s Chief Executive Mark Mitchell an opportunity to personally thank each staff member.
On reaching the milestone, Mark Mitchell commented, “While the recession was the lowest point in our history, in the North West we’ve seen a real return to strength in the region’s economy.
We are really proud that the challenge of raising £10,000 has been received with such enthusiasm by all of our employees, and feel sure that with such a great team behind us, the company will continue to thrive over the next 25 years and beyond.”
