Morson publishes oil & gas recruitment survey
The agency surveyed hundreds of Oil and Gas professionals for an insight into resourcing needs for 2014. Location was the second major factor in choosing work and Afghanistan was nearly twice as popular as the second most desirable location, Australia.
The overwhelming majority are male (96%) and 68% were contract workers, underlining how important resourcing and recruitment is within the sector.
Salary topped the list of requirements a candidate looked for when taking on a new job or project. Understandably, security was the biggest consideration looking to make the move to a potentially volatile region but healthcare and facilities were not far behind.
UAE, the US and relocation back to the UK itself were also high on the list of desired locations for candidates.
In terms of working with recruitment agencies directly, just over half (59%) said they would rather work with multiple agencies than just one. Feedback topped the list of what candidates want from a recruitment partner, closely followed by “Management of the recruitment process” and “Quality of the consultant” respectively.
