Spencer Ogden opens Manchester office
This marks the energy recruitment agency’s fourth UK-based office and its thirteenth worldwide.
David Spencer-Percival, Spencer Ogden CEO, commented, “An aggressive growth strategy has always been at the heart of our business, both at home and abroad. We have opened four offices in the last year alone and have expanded our London and Aberdeen offices to become & lsquo;superhubs’, so a new base in Manchester was the obvious next step.”
The Manchester office will be led by Phil Bygrave, who will be heading up a commercial and business development team and a key accounts division. Bygrave’s main focus will be to develop long term contracts with existing clients and generate new ones.
Bygrave, who takes on the title of commercial director, has eleven years experience working in the recruitment industry and seven years working specifically in the oil and gas sector.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Phil to the Spencer Ogden team,” says Spencer-Percival. “He has an excellent track record and has demonstrated considerable success in the oil and gas recruitment sector. He has worked with companies including BP Group, Statoil, Shell and TOTAL, to name a few, and the experience that he brings to the job will be invaluable.”
The new Manchester office is located in the heart of the city and is in typical Spencer Ogden style.
Commenting on his move to Spencer Ogden, Bygrave says, “Spencer Ogden is a truly global company, with a presence in all corners of the globe, and I am delighted to have joined the company at such an exciting time. I am really looking forward to building on the relationships that Spencer Ogden has already developed with existing clients, as well as generating new ones.
“Spencer Ogden’s offering is unique, insofar as it is the only recruitment agency servicing the whole of the energy sector, so we have something new to offer energy companies. I can’t wait to get started and help Spencer Ogden grow even further,” comments Bygrave.
Based in Manchester, Bygrave will also be supporting all of the Spencer Ogden offices with their bids and tenders. He will also offer guidance on ISO accreditation, HSE policies, onboarding services and work to further increase Spencer Ogden’s international offering.
“We’ve had an incredibly busy year to date,” explains Spencer-Percival. “Our global headcount has reached nearly 400 and to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise was a great honour. We look forward to building on our successful start to 2014 with more exciting news to come as the year continues”.
