APSCo welcomes new Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill

“APSCo welcomes the aims outlined in this Bill, especially those incentivising fair and transparent payment practices, and the removal of contractual barriers which stop businesses from gaining access to affordable finance. This is of particular concern in the recruitment industry due to the delay between the payment of workers and payment by clients. The banning of non-assignment clauses is a step in the right direction, and will be welcome news to APSCo members, and APSCo will continue to engage with the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (“BIS”) to ensure that the specific problems faced by the professional recruitment industry are taken into consideration.”

“APSCo is already engaging with the Institute of Credit Management regarding its Prompt Payment Code, and we hope that our Passcode (a Code of Conduct for Managed Service Providers and Resource Process Outsourcers) can be further developed to support the recruitment sector. APSCo will continue to work to highlight this very important subject, and BIS will be speaking at our members’ meeting on 10th July to allow our members the opportunity to discuss their concerns at first hand.”
