Brightwork Group sees profits leap
Turnover was £31.5m compared to £31.8m in 2012 but pre-tax profits rose from £0.77m to £1.059m.
MD, Anthony Knight, said: “This was our best-ever profit performance due to increased efficiencies put in place over the last two years.
“We have also invested heavily in people and infra-structure over the period resulting in head count increasing by 20 per cent. We also saw strong growth in our Specialist Recruitment and Office and Business Support divisions.
“We expect to see a slight profit fall in this current year but our medium-term business plan continues to anticipate a doubling of profits by 2017.”
The group, run by recruitment experts Charles Turner, Chief Operating Officer, and Anthony Knight, was established in 2006. Since then it has established itself as a major player in drinks and industrial recruiting, supplying thousands of workers every year to household name Scottish enterprises.
It has also built up a thriving specialist recruitment arm, BWSR, focusing on the professional, technical and managerial sectors. Turnover in this division has risen substantially since its inception in 2008.
In 2013 it acquired Quality Link Recruitment (QLR), the respected Scottish staffing and event management service, which has enhanced significantly Brightwork's offering in the catering and hospitality sectors.
