London HR Connection appoints new chair
McCoy is a leading HR practitioner with substantial international experience across the media, technology, telecoms, property and healthcare industries. Currently leading an extensive change and transformation programme as the interim Head of HR at the Crown Estate, he has previously held HR director roles at group, regional and country levels for companies including BSkyB, Aegis Media, British Telecom, Compaq Computer and Bupa. He has also led significant business transformation projects as a senior change management consultant at Accenture.
McCoy holds a Masters degree in Modern Languages (French & Italian) from Cambridge University and a Post-graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Westminster. He has been a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) since 1988.
Commenting on his appointment, McCoy said, “Having spent some time as the Vice Chair, I’m thrilled to now be taking over the mantle of Chair at the LHRC. As the economy recovers and the demand for & lsquo;rounded’ HR professionals grows, the value of effective networking has never been more important. The LHRC is there to help with this and we have some exciting plans to take the organisation forward and have some great speakers and events planned for the coming months.”
Non Executive Director
In a further recent announcement McCoy has also just been appointed as a Non Executive Director with responsibility for the remuneration committee and people issues at Kent Commercial Services (KCS). One of the leading suppliers of products and services to publicly funded organisations including education establishments, local government, emergency services and the voluntary and community sector, KCS is now a £600m services conglomerate employing over 800 people in a range of businesses.
