Ryecroft Glenton Promotes New Partners
Carl Swansbury, who heads Ryecroft Glenton’s growing Corporate Finance division, has an impressive track record for deal-making across the country. After qualifying as one of the UK’s youngest chartered accountants at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Newcastle in 2005, he moved to the RSM Tenon corporate finance team in Nottingham.
Since joining Ryecroft Glenton and establishing RGCF in May 2011, Carl Swansbury has been successful in developing the firm’s corporate finance division and has won a number of awards.
Carl said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as a partner in Ryecroft Glenton. At RGCF we’ve successfully advised on a number of transactions for many businesses across the country, helping owners and directors deliver their personal and business aspirations.
“When I joined the firm in 2011 the market for transactions was challenging, but we knew that by focussing our efforts on consolidating sectors and taking a long-term consultative approach we could work with great businesses looking to reate stakeholder value. In the medium term that gave rise to our being appointed to advise on all types of transactional matters, including company acquisitions and disposals, while also helping companies refinance and secure development capital which in recent years has proven to be exceptionally important for SMEs in the North East.
“The team at RGCF has worked exceptionally hard to make these deals happen, with excellent results for each of our clients and the firm. In each of the three years at RGCF we have announced year-end results significantly ahead of targets – this year 250 per cent ahead of expectations - with some great deals in the pipeline for 2014.”
Ryecroft Glenton was founded over 110 years ago by Peter Glenton’s great-grandfather and he will be the fourth generation of chartered accountants to practice in Newcastle.
Peter Glenton, having read law at Oxford University, qualified as a solicitor with the city firm of Allen & Overy in 2003 in its corporate finance department. Peter moved back to the North East in 2005, qualifying as a chartered accountant with Ryecroft Glenton and as a financial adviser with the firm’s wealth management division, Portland Financial Management Limited, which he heads up.
Peter’s multi-disciplinary experience and his knowledge of the detailed interface between legal, fiscal and financial matters is highly valued by clients and the firm, including Ryecroft Glenton Corporate Finance.
In congratulating them on their appointment, senior partner Tony Glenton said: “Peter and Carl work extremely hard for the firm and thoroughly deserve their appointment as partners. As a firm, we’re delighted to reward talent by promoting two individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving the needs of clients.
Peter and Carl have impressive track records of delivering the highest level of client service which reflects the approach Ryecroft Glenton takes in providing advice to every client across the practice.“
