SSQ announces record 2013 profit
In 2013 SSQ grew its international team across multiple jurisdictions and opened two new offices in Beijing and Shanghai. SSQ’s interim recruitment business, SSQ Interim Solutions, also enjoyed its first full year of trading and was able to expand quickly following its launch in late 2012. By the end of 2013, SSQ Interim Solutions had grown to a team of four consultants, recruiting lawyers and non-qualified legal professionals at all levels of seniority, into interim, contract and temporary positions.
In 2014 SSQ has already significantly grown its international team by hiring nine new consultants in fewer than six months. It has also opened an office in Singapore and has added dedicated compliance expertise to its portfolio of services in the UK and internationally. Revenue in the first half year of 2014 is 39% up on the same period last year and SSQ expects significant increases in both gross and net profit in 2014.
SSQ’s executive chairman, Gareth Quarry commented, “2013 was another exciting year for SSQ, and building out our nascent interims business and entering the Chinese market were two of the highlights. It was important for us to develop our interim offering to clients and to be able to offer our services across the principal locations in Asia in order to support our clients who are themselves based or expanding east. Since 2003 we have been continually moving into new markets, and these latest financial results show that we are in a strong position to continue growing in this way. 2014 revenue to date is 39% up on the same period last year and going forwards we intend to build greater depth in all our businesses as well as to launch in further new services and markets.”
