TARGETjobs announces largest Africa, Asia & Middle East recruitment event

On Saturday 8 November, in London, Graduate Careers in Africa, Asia and Middle East will be open to the UK’s top international students looking to return home to work, as well as a select group of UK and EU nationals who want to work in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Graduate Careers in Africa, Asia and Middle East is organised by TARGETjobs Events in partnership with Global Career Company. Building on last year’s successful launch event, Africa has been included this year in response to student and recruiter demand and to recognise the critical importance of African nations to the world economy.

International students represent around 15 per cent of UK undergraduates and nearly 70 per cent of full-time taught postgraduates. Graduate Careers in Africa, Asia and Middle East aims to meet their need for up-to-date information about careers and jobs by bringing together international students and international recruiters with the active support of leading universities and their careers services.

Entry to the event is selective, ensuring that recruiters meet only well-prepared and motivated students. At the event, they will meet employers who have vacancies in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and they can also take advantage of a range of free presentations, advisory sessions and workshops.

The website is open for applications from interested students.

Jon Mallott, Director at TARGETjobs, said: “We know the difficulties that international students have with finding work in other countries and we want to provide them with help to identify potential employers. And we want to provide international recruiters with the chance to meet talented students from many different universities, under one roof at the same time. We were delighted to launch this event last year and develop it in partnership with Global Career Company to include Africa in 2014.”

Alex Mugan, Marketing Director at Global Career Company, said “We are delighted to join TARGETjobs in developing this event, as the UK’s international talent pool is of continuing importance to the world’s leading employers. A solution that provides access to this group is guaranteed to meet the demands of recruiters, and we are excited about bringing a fantastic opportunity to our network of graduate candidates across the UK.”
