Building a responsible payment culture: BIS continues dialogue with APSCo
As part of its ongoing commitment to members, and to help promote a responsible payment culture within the recruitment supply chain, APSCo has arranged for the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) to attend its next members’ meeting.
Earlier this year, the Department for Business Innovation and Skills published its consultation response - “Building a responsible payment culture” - which set out the Government’s plans to tackle practices that cause problems for businesses in receiving prompt payment and accessing affordable finance. Part of the Government’s plan involves a sector-based approach, which is why APSCo believes it is of vital importance that BIS not only understands the unique issues faced in the recruitment sector, but also engages directly with staffing companies on the subject.
APSCo’s members’ meeting will offer recruitment firms a unique chance to influence government policy and will include an expert panel discussing the question of how to ensure fair and transparent payment terms throughout the recruitment supply chain. The expert panel includes representatives from:
Department for Business Innovation & Skills
Confederation of British Industry (CBI)
Institute of Credit Management
Asset Based Finance Association
