Harrington Starr appoint World leading elite performance coach Simon Hartley
Hartley has been working with the Exec Team for the last 6 months and his remit has now been extended to help to continue build an elite performance culture throughout the entire business.
Hartley is one of the world’s leading performance coaches and sports psychology consultants who has worked with Olympians, Premier League Football Teams and Champions in Cricket, Rugby and Squash. Formerly of the English Institute of Sport and a Best-Selling author, Hartley continues to work with elite teams in sport and business to create elite cultures of excellence.
Harrington Starr’s Toby Babb commented, “We are committed to creating an elite performance environment at Harrington Starr and ensuring that everyone in the business is given the facilities, training and support to ensure that outstanding results are inevitable. Simon has already had an enormously positive impact into the business and we are proud to work with one of the world’s leading names in the field of elite performance. This is an incredibly exciting time for the company as we launch a period of rapid growth and expansion including a move to outstanding City offices later this year. We want to be the best that we can possibly be for our customers and feel that Simon can help us ensure that we get the very best from every individual in the business.”
Hartley will continue his work with the Exec team, run a leadership programme with the management and senior teams, help to develop aspiring leaders, run monthly team development workshops and provide one to one performance consultancy with every member of the team. Complimenting Harrington Starr’s comprehensive HSUP training programme, the leadership “MBA”, the innovative “train to win series” and upcoming infographic series and video platform, the elite performance programme run by Simon Hartley places Harrington Starr as one of the most innovative and committed learning organisations in the UK.
The link between high performance sport and business is close to Harrington Starr hearts. Babb explains, “We have always used sport as a metaphor for who and what we are as a business. The Starr of Harrington Starr is in honour of the Quarterback of Vince Lombardi’s legendary Green Bay Packers team, Bart Starr. We have long used the lessons of that team (mastering the fundamentals, hard work, brilliant basics and teamwork) alongside other greats such as Woodward and Brailsford and are inspired by seeing what it takes to be the very best in class. Our events programme has included seminars run by Olympic Gold Medallist Ben Hunt-Davis, Rasmus Ankersen, Matthew Syed, Steve Backley, Frank Dick, Floyd Woodrow and Simon Timson and in September James Kerr will talk to us about the Leadership Lessons from the All Blacks. Simon’s wonderful ability to link the lessons from the very best in sport and business perfectly fits our culture and will help us to continue to grow at the outstanding rate that we have achieved thus far.”
With a move to high profile offices in the heart of the City shortly to be announced, Harrington Starr are continuing to expand.
