Tempo appoints director
Temporary staffing services have a much bigger part to play in the UK’s continued economic recovery than is generally recognised. As tempo continues to push for higher standards across the temporary recruitment industry, the appointment of a new Director is a vital element in their strategic plan to position their members and partner employers in the forefront of this campaign.
Tempo, which was founded in January 2013, is an alliance for temporary recruitment agencies and hirers jointly committed to raising standards in the recruitment industry. Significant progress has been made since its launch, with many tangible achievements that have earned greater recognition for the tempo brand. Tempo’s rigorous auditing process demonstrates that accredited agency members are operating at the highest standards in the industry. Clients can have confidence that they not only comply with the law but operate best practice throughout their entire organisation. At the same time tempo has championed the positive value of the UK’s flexible labour market. Having achieved so much already the appointment of a new Director of tempo had to support continued success.
This key position has been filled by Janice Henson who’scommercially diverse career in recruitment has spanned over two decades. Janice, taking over from previous Head of tempo Niki Addison will continue her role as Director of placeability alongside her new role at tempo.
Placeability is a recruitment specialist which offers a bespoke service in temporary recruitment for those who face complex barriers to employment. The success that Placeability has achieved highlights the ability for organisations to have a diverse workforce given the right support and training. Janice, who has been on the Brookfield Rose Board of Directors since 2013, will use her vast experience and knowledge of the recruitment industry to now drive tempo’s agenda for raising standards.
Janice Henson, Director of tempo, commented:
“I am excited and energised by the task that lies ahead for tempo. It is my goal to build on the great work the organisation has achieved in little more than a year by continuing the drive to raise standards in the temporary recruitment industry. It is critical that we communicate to agencies and hirers the true value of tempo’s audit process as a means of signposting excellence that can be trusted in the sector.”
Keith Faulkner CBE, a prominent and well respected figure within the recruitment industry and Chair of tempo commented:
“Janice is a very important addition to the tempo leadership team. Her knowledge, expertise and network across the sector will help to drive the alliance forward. The contingent workforce has never been so critical to the continued growth of UK economy. With this comes a duty to ensure that high standards underpin how temporary employees are sourced and supplied. Tempo has an essential role to play in articulating the long-term strategic value of the contingent workforce to our economy and I’m confident Janice will help ensure we achieve this, using her results at placeability as a template for success.”
