Genie Accountancy awarded FCSA membership
In order to be accepted as an FCSA member, Genie Accountancy has demonstrated compliance with the FCSA code of conduct a rigorous review of an applicant’s business services, operations, policies and processes established by the Association following extensive liaison with HMRC.
The code is designed to demonstrate to Government, as well as freelancers and contractors looking for a service provider, that a company is financially stable, provides high quality professional services and is operated to the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Compliance with the Code was independently verified and validated by Ernst and Young, and CRS Solicitors, with documentation deposited with HMRC at the end of the accreditation process.
Genie Accountancy was formed in 2012 to provide accounting support to freelance contractors providing services through their own limited company.
On being informed that Genie Accountancy had been accepted as a full member of the FCSA, Helen Christopher, operations director, said, “I am delighted that Genie Accountancy is now a member of the FCSA, it is clearly the leading independent accreditation body in the UK. We feel the publication of its rigorous code of conduct and the open-book policy with HMRC are consistent with our brand values and will give additional reassurance to our clients and agency partners. We intend to play our part in the development and growth of the FCSA we believe it’s vital that our sector has a strong voice that is respected and able to influence government thinking and policy.”
Julia Kermode, Chief Executive of the FCSA said, “It is great news that Genie Accountancy has been able to meet the extremely high standards required to gain membership of the FCSA, and I’m delighted to welcome them to the association. I very much look forward to working with Genie Accountancy, and ensuring that FCSA represents their views to Government.
FCSA membership is the quality mark every freelancer and contractor should look for when choosing a professional services company to advise them. Only then can they be sure that they will receive a reliable, responsible and robust service.”
