Interquest staffing up in Tunbridge Wells
Specialist recruiters InterQuest are undertaking a major internal recruitment project that will see them increase their workforce in Tunbridge Wells, creating up to 20 new jobs in the town. This comes in response to a significant increase in their client’s demands across the Group’s business, which has been reflected by the Group’s growth and recent financial reports.
The recruitment sector has had an eventful year so far in terms of skills shortages, heightening the need for specialist recruiters with in-depth knowledge of in-demand skills and job markets. A recent survey from the Confederation of British Industry and KPMG reported that 45% of London’s businesses are suffering from a skills shortage 66% of those reported that their skills shortage lies within the IT sector. REC and KPMG also noted in a recent report that one of the largest areas of expansion is in the IT sector, with job vacancies recently reported to be at a 16 year high.
This demand for skills has led InterQuest Group to look into their own staffing requirements in order to keep up with the demand from clients. The InterQuest Group is planning on hiring 17 additional recruits in the coming months in their Tunbridge Wells office to support this continued growth.
The expansion of InterQuest’s Tunbridge Wells team is not unique to this office, with growth in the company having led to it increasing its team size in some of their other offices to include Harrogate, Manchester, Berkhamsted and London. Earlier this month the Group released its Interim Results, with the Group’s CEO Mark Braund commenting: & lsquo;2014 has started positively with a contract book of business 10% higher than a year ago and with the foundations in place to capitalise upon the market opportunity in 2014.’
InterQuest Group recently re-launched their new careers site, an area of their website that provides detailed account of the company, from training programmes to rewards and current vacancies.
The Group’s Tunbridge Wells office plays a vital role in the Group’s service delivery to all our major customers, as well as being the base of the InterQuest division IQ Public Sector, IQ Assurance & Testing and IQ Not for Profit. Linton Ward, Managing Director of IQ Public Sector, commented:
& lsquo; Our specialist recruitment teams work with niche technology disciplines & skills, and have experienced some great success over the last 12 months with both public and private sector clients. Increase in client demand for IT skills has necessitated an increase in our own demand for recruiters to join our teams. In response to this we are currently looking to take on 17 new recruits for our expert and trainee roles. We will be holding an open day for candidates on October 9th. This scheme is our tool to help new recruits grow and develop with our teams, as they learn from our experienced consultants to acquire the necessary skills to become expert recruiters within their market.’
