Russam GMS appoints professional services consultant

A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Chartered Environmentalist, with PRINCE2 Practitioner accreditation, Shirley brings extensive senior level experience of working with private, public-sector, regulatory and not-for-profit organisations within the professional services, construction, engineering and the property and housing sectors.

Her former employers include WSP Group, ENSR, Wimpey, Tarmac and the National House Building Council.

Shirley also has extensive experience of business start-ups, investment projects, re-structuring and acquisition and merger activities.  Her more recent portfolio career includes interim and consultancy roles with public and private sector clients, as well as Non-Executive Directorship positions.

Shirley Watson commented, “I am delighted to work with Russam GMS. The company is at an exciting growth phase in the UK and internationally.  As we come out of recession, the UK’s consulting engineers, property development, construction, environmental and energy sectors are all facing major shortages of professional expertise.  These are sectors where I have first-hand experience and understand the kinds of challenges these clients face and the opportunities available to them.  Business growth and sustainability is achieved only if the right resources are in place and I will focus on providing interim managers who will support clients in achieving these.

Jason Atkinson, Managing Director, Russam Interim commented, “Shirley is a fantastic asset to our team.  Her tremendous experience and contacts in the construction, property development and housing sectors will really strengthen our offering in these and related areas.  The market for interim management is growing at a pace and our business is also developing fast in the UK and overseas.  We are delighted to have Shirley on board to maximise opportunities for business development and to assist our clients and candidates.”
