APSCo Awards for Excellence 2014 winners announced

These coveted annual awards recognise and celebrate achievement in professional recruitment and are a major indicator of professional standards throughout this sector.

The awards ceremony started with a presentation by Susan Scott-Parker OBE – founder and chief executive of the Business Disability Forum – which focused on disability and how the treatment of those with an impairment will stifle economic growth. Scott-Parker pointed out that she is often asked to outline the business case for hiring people with a disability – and as she aptly puts it: “why do we need a business case for treating people fairly?”

Entries for the APSCo Awards were judged by an independent panel of experts, chaired by recruitment veteran Godfrey Morrell. The & lsquo;Recruitment Company of the Year over &pound50m’, & lsquo;Innovator or the Year’ and & lsquo;CSR Initiative of the Year’ were judged by Aaron Bolan from RBS, Sarah Mason of Talent Advantage Ltd, Paul Awcock from Catlin and Graeme Read of 3RPartnership.

The judging panel for & lsquo;Affiliate Member of the Year’, & lsquo;Recruitment Company with the most Sustainable Growth’ and & lsquo;Recruitment Company of the Year under &pound50m’consisted of Steve Soloman from RBS, independent recruitment expert Les Clark, Vanessa Robinson of the CIPD and Paul Saunders, an independent consultant.

The judging panel for & lsquo;International Recruitment Company of the Year’, & lsquo;RPO/MSP of the Year’ and & lsquo;Recruitment Company of the Year under &pound5-&pound50m’ consisted of Sean Dixon of RBS, Katie Folwell-Davies of Deloitte, Graham Mitchell from T2i Business Performance Psychology, Ken Brotherston of the TheJobPost and Simon Kite of Saffery Champness.

Commenting on this year’s awards, Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo says:
