Cubiq Recruitment take on The Big Charity Drive
Teams are required to buy a vehicle for less than £500 and drive from the sunny climes of Greater Manchester to southern France, completing a series of Top Gear style challenges along the way.
Points will be deducted for breakdowns, refuelling, stoppages etc and there will be a series of awards for participants ranging from The RMCH Cup(Awarded to the team who raises the most money) and The Spanner (Awarded to the Team who break down the most).
At the end of the week all cars will be auctioned off to raise money for the charity.
So, the most important part is that people understand who the charity is and what they do. RMCH sees 200,000 patients each year and with 371 beds is the largest single-site children’s hospital in the UK.
This hospital treats child cancer patients, kids with haematology conditions and those requiring bone marrow transplants and burns treatment. They treat genetic conditions and provide orthopaedic therapy and offer ground breaking research and development into a range of conditions.
The hospital relies on the kind support from fund raising and charitable donations to continue providing the high level of care they offer to kids who are already too familiar with the inner workings of a hospital ward.
If you have experienced what it’s like to have a young relative, sibling or close friend who has been critically ill at an early age you’ll understand the importance these facilities make to the lives of those people who are unfortunate enough to have to make use of their services.
100%of donations will go directly to the charity
Dan Dutton the Cubiq Recruitment MD said “Just to be clear, we’re not asking for help to buy the car and fund a road trip through the cultural and rural heartlands of France! We’ve bought the vehicle and all expenses and outlay on comedy outfits will be met by us. All we want people to do is appreciate the tireless work the nurses do and realise that any money you pledge will be used to improve the young lives of the children they treat. Every donation makes a difference if each person donated £5 collectively we could effect a huge change in the lives of these young people.”
Cubiq have set up a JustGiving page where you can see the full details of the challenge. You can donate £5 by texting CUBQ £5 to 70070 or donate via our page by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/Cubiq-Big-Charity-Drive
