Drivers Direct helps find work for hero's
The BFRS was set up in 2009 to help service men and woman make the transition from the military to the civilian world. They currently work alongside the military’s current service CTP (Career Transition Partnership) to provide a bespoke plan for each individual to help them prepare for mainstream employment.
Drivers Direct, who have been staunch supporters of BFRS since their beginning, will support all of the non-profit organisation’s events, which are organised for servicemen and woman to meet potential employers and show what they have to offer. Drivers Direct will also work closely with BFRS to help train and place many ex forces personnel within their own network in order to meet the growing demand for commercial drivers in the UK.
Gethin Roberts, Managing Director of Driver Direct, comments: “The BFRS is a brilliant organisation and we’re proud to be able to support such a worthwhile service. We feel it is extremely important to help individuals who have represented our country in the armed forces to get them settled into civilian life and find meaningful work. Ex-service personnel are often reliable, resourceful and skilful candidates who are able to utilize the skills they have gained in the forces.”
Established in 2002, Drivers Direct covers all driver classes, from chauffeurs and fork lift drivers right through to LGV Class 1 and 2 drivers, supplies more than 700 drivers a week to clients from across the public and private sectors. The company now employs more than 60 members of staff from its network of 20 branches across the UK, and in the last year reported an annual turnover of £16.2m.
