Employers urged to think mobile as smartphone applications soar

New data from Technojobs, one of the UK’s leading online job sites, has revealed a significant rise in the number of job hunters pursuing a new career via their handheld device, making it more important than ever before for employers to be mobile savvy.

Since its launch in June 2013, the Technojobs mobile app has received over 10,000 downloads and sends over 100,000 push notification per month to its users, demonstrating the large number of people searching for jobs on their mobile phones.

Additionally visits to the Technojobs mobile site have increased by 57% year on year, with job seekers confident in searching and applying via their mobile device.  This reflects a significant increase in the number of people comfortable using their smartphone or tablet to undertake job-hunting on the go in parallel with people’s busy lifestyles.

Anthony Sherick, MD of Technojobs, believes the data shows companies looking to recruit new talent need to be more prepared for candidates who apply via their mobile device.
