Interim Manager of the Year Awards 2014 the results
We were delighted with the response, and it was a difficult process to narrow down from over 200 responses to our final shortlist of 27 worthy finalists.
Sir Richard Lapthorne, Chairman of Cable and Wireless kindly oversaw the judging panel, casting his valued opinion and eventually arriving at the final three deserved winners.
We are delighted to announce that Andrew Clatworthy and Amy Hammond were runners up.
Andrew put himself forward for his work at Hibu, formerly known as Yell Group. He led an incredibly complex multi-million pound refinancing and capital restructure of the company. When discussing the restructuring of various UK companies, the Chairman of Hibu, Bob Wigley, described it as “the most difficult and challenging so far”.
Amy Hammond’s success in her assignment meant that she missed first place by the thinnest of margins. Amy created a global ERP system with a single integrated ERP solution for the entire G4S Risk Management business. The assignment also included multiple trips in locations of high threat such as Iraq & Afghanistan accommodated by the G4S Risk Management close protection teams in armoured vehicles. On reviewing Amy’s nomination, Sir Richard Lapthorne commented, “I could not fail to be struck by Amy's commitment to her project. It took real courage to put herself in harm's way”.
Finally, it is with great pleasure that we can publicise Lisa Bondesio as the Interim Manager of the Year 2014.
Lisa was brought into Network Rail to implement a much needed turnaround of their Industry Access Programme, a programme centred around the efficiencies and closer collaboration between Network Rail and the train and freight operating companies. Through establishing a multi-disciplinary team and reshaping the programme so that it delivered transformative change, Lisa has had a huge impact, revealing benefits and propelling greater efficiencies across the whole industry.
John McLaughlin, Partner Boyden Interim commented, “The evening was a wonderful success, enjoyed by all those in attendance. It has certainly set a precedence for next year and I am delighted to confirm Boyden Interim Management will be again sponsoring this prestigious event. The tremendous work carried out by Interim Managers is to be applauded, and it was a privilege to showcase such fine examples which highlights the strength of the interim market in our economy”.
