The evening saw local businesses and supporters of the charity join together for a fun school themed event with & lsquo;Headmaster’ for the night, management trainer, Chris Croft, cast in the role of quizmaster. A silent auction and raffle with prizes kindly donated by local companies included an Audi for the weekend, golf lessons at Parkstone Golf Club, a Storm cookery course, and a spa day at The Haven.
& lsquo;Students’ enjoyed a school lunch themed supper of bangers and mash, with old school style snacks consisting of black jacks, sherbert dips, white mice and Golden Wonder crisps available from the tuck shop. Prizes were given out for individual best fancy dress with medals awarded to the winning quiz team, Saffery Champness.
Maria Tidy, fundraising manager at Lewis-Manning, said, “We’re once again really grateful to Jobshop UK for sponsoring this great event and would also like to say a big thanks to all those who supported the event and came along in their school uniforms to make the evening really authentic. With the recent opening of the bedrooms, we are now entering a very exciting but financially challenging new phase at Lewis-Manning, so this money will be of enormous benefit for the growing number of local patients, with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, that rely on us for the free care we provide at a particularly distressing time.”
Jobshop UK director, Tracey Wood, said, “It was a fantastic event and a fun way to once again raise much needed funds for this dedicated local charity. We were thrilled to have broken last year’s total which could not have been done without the generosity and support of everyone who attended, sponsored, or donated to the event.”
