Earthstaff heads to Houston as part of ongoing expansion

The energy recruitment agency, part of Staffgroup, already has relationships with many international operators based in Houston due to their diverse client base in over 40 countries but opening in the & lsquo;capital of Oil & Gas’ presents the chance to solidify these  relationships and accelerate the growth of the business.

John Kittle, director at Earthstaff, will be running operations in Houston and says the opportunities Stateside are significant but you need to approach the market in the right way:

“It is widely publicised that the oil and gas recruitment industry throughout the US is a booming sector.  The US has now officially overtaken both Russia and Saudi Arabia in terms of total oil and gas production and this creates recruitment challenges both within the household named operators as well as the more local entities.  We are cautious of the difficulties that some recruitment companies have faced in the wake of the industry’s dash into the US market but our research and planning – including with our clients and candidates – means that we will have a steady and stable presence.”

Paul Flynn, managing director of Earthstaff’s parent company Staffgroup, is excited about the company’s move to Houston and believes it offers the opportunity to diversify Earthstaff’s existing services:

“Our Earthstaff business has an excellent track record of providing traditional recruitment services but being on the ground in Houston will see us offer consulting and project management services – something that is commonplace in the US Oil & Gas market.  We are opening the office with a team of six which is made up from local hires as well as three team members from London relocating, highlighting the opportunities not only for the business but also for our existing staff.  It truly is an exciting period in Earthstaff’s short history and we can’t wait to start our American adventure.”
