Job satisfaction vs job security - jobseekers deliver their verdicts
In the study of more than 100,000 candidates for their opinions on job hunting and the job market as a whole, more than 65% valued excitement in their work over the security of their job.
One of the biggest surprises was the difference in attitude between those looking for roles in the South versus those searching further north as you move towards the northern border with Scotland, permanence and job security become much more important. As many as 49.5% in the North-East regarded the security of a role as a key factor, almost twice as many as those in the South / London, and almost three times as many as those in Northern Ireland.
Lee Biggins, managing director of CV-Library commented, "The findings support the theory that with more job opportunity comes more choice and thus more scope to find a role that satisfies rather than simply provides a pay-cheque month after month. With the growth in the number of jobs increasing faster in the South than in the North, we expected to see numbers like this the huge gap in the final study is quite surprising, however."
