Livingston James supports key consultant in honing strategic overview for benefit of clients
The internationally-operating recruitment and leadership advisory business is sponsoring Sandra McKinnon, head of the firm's Business Services and Professional Services Practice, to undertake an MBA at the University of Strathclyde's prestigious Business School.
McKinnon, who has a background in large blue chip organisations, was one of the first people to join the Livingston James team back in 2010. She will study for the MBA on a part-time basis over three years.
The Livingston James Group, whose turnover is approaching £2 million for 2014 and now employs 24 staff in Edinburgh and Glasgow, has established a reputation for sourcing the best people in UK recruitment and encouraging them to hone and develop their skill sets.
The company, which recently has established a number of new specialist businesses, including Rutherford Cross and Drummond Bridge, is keen to further develop a culture of understanding of the strategic ambitions and requirements of client companies.
McKinnon said, "Jamie Livingston and Andy Rogerson, the group directors of Livingston James, have always encouraged my professional development and my personal aspirations. The MBA, which is very much a practical post-graduate qualification, was a logical progression.
"I chose Strathclyde Business School because of the excellent reputation of the University. The main areas covered are strategy, people management, marketing, finance, economics and leadership."
Jamie Livingston said, "Since inception, Livingston James has invested in attracting serious, professional people who have the creativity, expertise and dedication to provide the highest possible level of service for clients and candidates alike.
"It is incumbent on us as employers to provide satisfying and rewarding continuing professional development opportunities for our valued consultants and Sandra is a perfect example of someone who will gain deep insights from the MBA programme.
"We are very pleased to be able to sponsor such a talented individual and we are sure that the rewards she will achieve for our clients as a result of her arduous studies will be considerable."
