Capstone Hill Search signs ex-Westbourne partner
Abbotts previously held the role of partner and chief operating officer at Westbourne Communications and has substantial experience in the communications consultancy industry having spent the last twenty years at agencies including Weber Shandwick, Edelman and Financial Dynamics.
Abbotts will report to managing director Jamie McLaughlin and work alongside Amanda Johnson, who is also a regional director of public affairs and government relations. The move is part of Capstone Hill Search’s growth strategy as the PRCA recruitment partner grows its presence in public and corporate affairs.
Commenting on his appointment, Abbotts said, “I am very pleased to be joining Capstone Hill Search. I have already worked closely with Jamie McLaughlin, Amanda Johnson and the team as a client in my role with Westbourne. We relied strongly on their expertise and ability to deliver, not only outstanding people, but also equally impressive service and consultancy. Capstone Hill Search offers a unique blend of recruitment skills and considerable experience in front line consultancy, and I hope to add further to that depth of experience, knowledge and relationships within the industry.”
McLaughlin explained “We’re delighted to welcome Ben aboard, he has spent much of his working life working at the UK’s leading agencies and brings outstanding personal networks, insight and expertise into the business. His addition to the team further underlines our commitment to corporate and public affairs in particular and he will be charged with driving growth in areas such as financial services and expanding our capability in Brussels.”
Jeremy Wrench, Capstone Hill Search CEO, concluded “Ben’s appointment caps a year of significant growth for Capstone Hill Search, which has seen us push strongly into multiple sectors within the communications market as well as expanding our geographic footprint, with the opening of our New York office. Senior appointments such as Ben’s, together with extending our partnerships with the PRCA, ICCO and the Holmes Report’s the 2014 World PR Report, have helped us to continue to deliver a unique depth of consultancy to our clients and candidates alike, and provide us with an exciting platform for further growth in 2015”.
