Brightwork Group makes Christmas a little happier for Barnardo's children
Instead of giving presents to each other as the festive season gets into its swing, the staff at the fast-growing Glasgow and Edinburgh-based recruiter pooled their gift money raising £350 for Barnardo's Scotland.
Impressed by their efforts, the directors of Brightwork Group played & lsquo;double your money’ and raised the sum to £700.
Brightwork Group managing director, Anthony Knight, said, "Our staff spend their working days helping people into fulfilling employment and it says a great deal for them that they have chosen this way of showing their charity at this time of year."
Barnardo’s Scotland provides more than 122 community-based services throughout the country working with more than 26,500 vulnerable children, young people and their families. It also engages with external organisations to bring about positive change for children, young people and families within Scotland.
Rebecca Mitchell, corporate relationship executive at Barnardo's Scotland, commented, "The Brightwork Group's generous donation of £700 has been gratefully received by our projects in Falkirk and Perth, and will go a long way in making a disadvantaged young person’s Christmas that little bit more special.
"As the UK’s leading children’s charity, Barnardo’s provides more than 900 frontline services in communities across the country which give 200,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families the support they need each year.
"Without the support of businesses and individuals like the Brightwork Group we would not be able to continue our vital work. The disadvantaged children and young people supported by Barnardo’s will very much appreciate this thoughtfulness."
