Be Personnel celebrates 9th year in business
Founded by East Lothian entrepreneur, Angela Brunton, in 2006, the business commenced operating out of offices in the smart area of Albany Street in Edinburgh, where Angela and her small team offered temporary semi-skilled and skilled workers to the growing food processing and industrial sectors as well as professional people on both temporary and permanent contracts covering office, university scribes and management sectors.
Following an incredible first 18 months, the business saw sales rocket to over £3M with Angela also winning the Most Successful Newcomer category in the inaugural Scottish Recruitment Awards in 2007. Today, through a rapidly expanding client base, Be Personnel now has its head office in Alness, Ross Shire, and can justifiably claim to be one of Scotland's most significant recruitment consultancies providing permanent, temporary and contract staff to a wide range of SME plus nationally and internationally recognised clients across the UK.
Each successive year since its formation has seen sustained growth with financial year end 2014 seeing a turnover in excess of £5.7M with plans set to achieve a continuous growth for 2015. The business has also expanded into the energy sector with the formation of a specialist division aptly named Energybe.
Focussing upon the commercial, industrial, food processing, contact centre and professional sectors, clients also engage Be Personnel to manage complex strategic outsourced recruitment, management consultancy and L&D projects. At its peak Be Personnel manages over 450 temporary workers a day with 2014/15 reporting over 300 permanent positions successfully filled. With 100 clients on the books over 80% of the company business comes from existing client referrals. Be Personnel feature on a wide range of preferred supplier contracts and the company has been GLA licensed since 2006 and ISO accredited since 2008.
Angela Brunton states, “Our motto is “It’s our business to know yours” and this ethos lies at the very foundation of our professional existence, underpinning our commitment to provide total satisfaction through the provision of high touch consultative services tailored to create sustainable long term relationships with all of our clients” Be Personnel is also heavily committed to fundraising for various national and Scottish based charities and good causes.
As a dedicated fundraiser herself, Brunton has taken up numerous challenges over the last few years and pushed herself to achieve self-satisfaction and raising a considerable amount of money along the way. In 2012 she raised £13.5k for The British Heart Foundation when she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and 2014 saw her complete the challenge of cycling the Great Wall of China for three different women’s cancer charities and raising £11,500. May 2015 sees her taking up the challenge of cycling in the Everest Highland Event in aid of the Highland Hospice Appeal.
Brunton added, “Successful business is a & lsquo;team’ effort and my dedicated team of consultants, operational managers and support staff have been key in developing Be Personnel and assisting in its growth and success, I could not have done it without them!”
