New owners outline growth plans for RIG Energy

RIG Energy is a specialist recruiter of gas and electrical engineers to support utility suppliers in the domestic and commercial energy markets and work is well underway by the new owners, RTC Group plc., to integrate RIG into its existing Ganymede Solutions business – which has its head office in Derby and regional branches in , London, Cardiff and Crewe.

All of the 11 members of the RIG team have been retained and will remain at the company’s offices in Milton Keynes – but the new owners have already set their sights on larger premises in the Buckinghamshire town to support the expected growth of the business. Ganymede Solutions expects that this will be completed before the end of 2015.

Ganymede Solutions’ managing director Paul Crompton said the acquisition is a strategic move for the company, which is one of the UK’s leading specialist suppliers of contingent labour to the rail industry.

“Railways and utilities have a lot in common, as they are both safety-critical industries. Ganymede is expert at recruiting in such tightly regulated markets, where safety is of absolutely paramount importance,” said Crompton.

“Ganymede’s mantra is & lsquo;safety first, safety always’, and the acquisition of RIG is the perfect platform for us to expand and apply our exacting high standards and expert knowledge around strict regulations for working in safety-critical environments.

“We have acquired a thriving business with a team of very strong individuals who are excited about our intentions to grow the business and build a stronghold in the energy market at a time when initiatives such as the UK rollout of smart meters are gathering momentum.”

RIG has already been rebranded as Ganymede Solutions and will look to secure more contracts directly with energy firms and with contractors to the UK’s top six energy suppliers. It is also increasing its sourcing of commercial and domestic gas and electrical engineers and meter installers.
