Twitter holds first ever UK job fair
The Twitter Job Fair was piloted in Germany last year to great success and this year it will be a pan-European project.
What is it?
The Twitter Job Fair is a pan-European initiative which aims to make careers-related advice and news accessible to Twitter users all over Europe, with each country using its own translation of a dedicated #YourJob hashtag.
For the UK Twitter Job Fair, we are working with a selection of the country’s top organisations and HR figures such asretailer John Lewis (@johnlewisretail), global healthcare company GSK (@GSK) and charity Macmillan Cancer Support (@MacRecruitTeam)who will be giving UK Twitter users the opportunity to seek careers advice, find out about job vacancies, get job application tips and ask careers-related questions on Twitter through the dedicated hashtag #YourJob.
Organisations on the day will be:
Posting job vacancies on their Twitter feeds
Posting quotes from a range of high-ranking employees within your organisation giving their advice for prospective job applicants
Posting advice on what your organisation looks for in a cover letter, CV or job application
Engaging directly with Twitter users, answering questions and offering careers advice to prospective job applicants
Other activities include:
A webinar in partnership with the National Careers Service, who will give advice on job searching, CV writing and interview techniques
Q & A session on the platform with Ricky Martin, former winner of BBC TV series The Apprentice who runs recruitment company HRS (@HyperecHRS) with Lord Sugar (@LordSugar)
